Facilities

facs_lotteryOur Pre-school room was purpose built for us in 2006. With thanks to an Awards for All grant, from the National Lottery, the room was refurnished with new furniture and equipment.

This room is separated into areas for reading, painting, modelling, sand & wet play, imaginary play and computer work. A kitchen area with cooker, hob and fridge, which is kept secure from the children, gives the staff the opportunity to carry out baking experiments and cooking projects with the children.

We have full use of the Victory Hall, which is a large, airy room. The children are able to climb, ride bikes and run around.
In the grounds of the Hall there is an enclosed playground which the staff take the children to during fine sessions. Parents & carers also use this playground before and after sessions. They find this gives them time to chat whilst the children play – a vital part of Pre-school and especially good for those moving into the area.

A secure outdoor play area is accessed directly from the Pre-school room and main hall. Children are encouraged to use this play area during most sessions, except during very bad weather.

There is a playhouse which has bunk beds and a kitchen giving the children ample opportunity for imaginary play. They are even allowed to decorate the playhouse with chalk! We have a sensory garden for the children to explore and enjoy.
We are closely affiliated with Stockland School and ensure regular visits for children that will attend.

Stockland Primary School was rated as Outstanding by it’s recent Ofsted report which states;
“This is an outstanding school that provides its pupils with a wide range of very stimulating and exciting learning experiences. All pupils benefit from an ethos that cherishes them as individuals and is committed to each child achieving their full potential. Parents are rightly proud of the education provided for their children.”
